Elegant Lady

At last we have some lovely sunshine so I have been in the garden sorting out the plants and clearing the greenhouse. Hubby has the job  next week of dismantling  and temporarily rebuilding the greenhouse down the end of the garden whilst the builders come, which will hopefully be in a few weeks time we have waited long enough.
So now I do not have any energy left for today. It's a while since I did any paper piecing but I found it thoroughly relaxing and made this quick & simple card.

Another Feather

Oh dear I'm not being a very good blogger this year and I promised so much more, but I as my regular followers will know I have not been that well for the last year. So I'm afraid for now I will be continuing to post cards as and when I feel up to it.
This is my latest creation and inspired my last card made using one of  my parrots feathers, when it fell out naturally of course. I waited and waited and finally out popped another. Some of the feathers are obviously not suitable as the quill in the middle is too hard and some of  his feathers are far too big to fit on a card or to small to stamp on, so it looks like some of his wing feathers are going to be about the right size for me to play with. Hmm! how much long will I have to wait before another pops out that he hasn't chewed to pieces and looks respectable enough to use.

Parrot feather

So I am wondering why has it taken me all these years to discover I can stamp onto my parrots feathers? once they have fallen out naturally of course. Luckily for me I have a cockatoo so the feathers are mainly all white with just a hint of creamy yellow in places. I was also rummaging through a drawer and found some peel off stickers to which I have to confess to not using much these days but it just seemed to fit with the mirri card.
Stamp is from the set  Hopeful Thoughts from Stampin' Up.

Graffiti

Just popping by with another card using two more of the the new stamps I treated myself to. Just love the Ink splats which is a set of 4 different splats. The brick wall stamps is so easy to use and line up it  is easy to make a whole page of wall any size you want. I can see them all becoming firm favourites.

Butterflies

Last week it was anniversary cards this week birthday cards. As it was my own birthday this week I treated myself to a few new stamps. So of course I just had to have a play with them. One of the stamps I brought was this lovely grunge flourish. Background is made using Distress Inks Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry one of my favourite  colour combo's. Sentiment stamp is once again from Imagine That Papercrafts.
