Hydrangea

I hope you have by now all finished making those Christmas cards, I know some people do like to leave it until the last minute mentioning no names but that is not me. I am pleased to say mine have all been made and posted to all corners of the world, so now I can sit back a relax before starting on next years.
I have had plenty of Birthday requests the last few weeks and still have one or two to make but thought I would take a short break and update my blog which I seem to have been so bad at this year.
For this cards I used my distress markers to colour and stamp.

Woah!! hold on to your seats not only two postings in one week but now two postings in one day I think I must be sickening for something. No truly I really might be sickening for something I have had a runny nose all afternoon which keeps reminding of my mum as she would always tell me to run after it then.

In the meantime I am tucked up in the warm and as I still had the dragonfly stamp still on my desk I thought I would make another card this time I created the background using alcohol inks.

Dragon Fly

Well I still have the builders in but at least now after nearly 12 weeks the end is in sight. That is if the rain would stop so the builders could get on with the patio. Once it's all finished then of course the work will start for hubby as the outside and the new room will both need decorating. In the meantime I did manage to make this card in between still making tea and cake, it uses two of my favourite colours Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade which also happen to be the colours that some of the trees are turning now autumn is upon us.

I am entering this card into the following challenges.

In the Night Garden

Well I wish this rain would stop it's holding up my builders and the roofer from finishing our extension.
I have found time amongst still making tea and cakes to make a few cards for people. This one if for a little girl so the instructions were "in the night garden" which I have to say I had to Google to find out what it was.
Yellow I have to confess it not a colour a I use on cards very often but for children it is ideal as it is bright and cheery.

Flowers everywhere

Hello bloggers so sorry not to have been around once again but we have the builders in and life seems to be a constant round of making cups of tea and an endless supply of cakes to keep the hungry workers fed. Don't even get me started on the dust and mud that is getting into the house.
My friend Gill showed me how to make these flowers a few years ago and it's been a while since I made them but they were just perfect for this special card, and of course I love getting inky fingers too.

Birthday Posy

.
Well I think summer has finally arrived and gone totally over the top it's far too hot for my liking. It's too hot to do anything and as I've only had about two hours sleep even more reason not to do anything, although I did just had to have a little play. Keeping with the theme of this sentiment when the recipient of this card opens it up out will pour some  Glamour Dust which I sprinkled inside when the card was in the envelope. Hee Hee!! hope they haven't just done the hoovering.

Elegant Lady

At last we have some lovely sunshine so I have been in the garden sorting out the plants and clearing the greenhouse. Hubby has the job  next week of dismantling  and temporarily rebuilding the greenhouse down the end of the garden whilst the builders come, which will hopefully be in a few weeks time we have waited long enough.
So now I do not have any energy left for today. It's a while since I did any paper piecing but I found it thoroughly relaxing and made this quick & simple card.

Another Feather

Oh dear I'm not being a very good blogger this year and I promised so much more, but I as my regular followers will know I have not been that well for the last year. So I'm afraid for now I will be continuing to post cards as and when I feel up to it.
This is my latest creation and inspired my last card made using one of  my parrots feathers, when it fell out naturally of course. I waited and waited and finally out popped another. Some of the feathers are obviously not suitable as the quill in the middle is too hard and some of  his feathers are far too big to fit on a card or to small to stamp on, so it looks like some of his wing feathers are going to be about the right size for me to play with. Hmm! how much long will I have to wait before another pops out that he hasn't chewed to pieces and looks respectable enough to use.

Parrot feather

So I am wondering why has it taken me all these years to discover I can stamp onto my parrots feathers? once they have fallen out naturally of course. Luckily for me I have a cockatoo so the feathers are mainly all white with just a hint of creamy yellow in places. I was also rummaging through a drawer and found some peel off stickers to which I have to confess to not using much these days but it just seemed to fit with the mirri card.
Stamp is from the set  Hopeful Thoughts from Stampin' Up.

What a lovely sunny Sunday I hope you are all making the most of this long weekend.

I used Tim Holtz Distress inks, Peeled, Paint, Crushed Concord and Picked Raspberry. I used  Adirondack Purple Twightlight for the stamping.

Flower Power

Well what happened to the nice warm sunny weather? We decided that after being in all morning we would go for a stroll round the block to see if it would help ease the pain in my leg. Yes I know I'm falling apart rapidly these days if it's not one things it's another. Anyway we got half way and suddenly the heavens opened and we got blasted by huge hailstones so a hasty retreat was made back to a nice warm house and a bit of crafting instead.

Playtime

Hi bloggers can you believe it's more than a month since I blogged. My only excuse is that I have had two operations in the last 8 weeks which kind of knocked the stuffing out of me. The last operation should have only been twenty minutes but turned into a major two hour operation, it could only happen to me. I am hoping that the steroids that I am now on for the next six weeks do the job and kicks the butt out of this Aspergillus fungus in my sinus after 10 months I've had enough of it I want to get back to crafting.

Lady in Red

Morning folks what a horrible day all damp and misty and now starting to rain, hence the poor picture quality. Definitely a day to stay indoors and craft. So I went to the hospital yesterday where the doctor took a hoover to my nose not the most pleasant  of experiences but at least it's brought a little relief for now. I have to return in another two weeks to have yet more horrible things done so not the good news I was hoping for. Think I need to do plenty of crafting to take my mind of it all if only my hands would work today.
Stamps are from Darkroom Door backing paper was made using these stamps and  Old Paper and vintage photo distress inks. Dress is coloured in Festive Berries  and old linen distress ink. Dress has been decoupaged to give a bit of extra dimension.

Welcome Home

Yeah I'm back well of sorts. I know I promised to be a better blogger this year but I ended up in hospital having an operation on my sinuses which turned out to be a bit more serious than at first thought. At least I am feeling a little better now and am hoping that the doctor will have good news for me later in the week, so fingers crossed. Trust me to get something that is not simple to treat and it's played havoc with my Fibro/CFS.
So this is a card a friend asked me to make to welcome her neighbours back from a long trip abroad.
The cute house stamps is from Imagine That. Embossing folder from Stampin Up

70th Birthday card

I hope you've all survived the snow had some fun and stayed safe. I've been in hibernation mode and have not left the house since last Friday not that I've really been well enough to leave in the first place. I will have to venture out later this week as I am off to the hospital yet again!! seems to be my second home these days.
Following on from my last post which was a box to hold some money from a collection for a friend who was celebrating a very special birthday, this is the actual card I made for her. All the numbers, name and flowers are covered in stickles which unfortunately doesn't show too well in this photo.
Needless to say she loved them both and had a great birthday too and ended up with 5 birthday cakes.

Exploding Box

I decided to make  this exploding box for my friend who is celebrating her 70th Birthday this week. I managed to get this out of two 12x12 sheets by making a join in one of the folds in the bottom tier of the cake. I also made a little envelope out of cream card to put some money in which I placed in the lid of the box.

Happy New Year

A belated Happy New Year to you all. I hope you all had a good Christmas and got lots of crafty goodies to play with. Finally this week I get to see the ENT consultant and hopefully find out what can be done to cure my chronic sinus problem. I must be the only person around who actually lost weight over Christmas because of it.
This is the second card I've  made this year and was made in rather a hurry this afternoon as the person requires it for Wednesday and only asked me this morning, talk about leaving until the last minute.
I am entering this card into the following challenge Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
