What a horrible day yesterday rain, rain and more rain and now today brilliant sunshine when will the weather make it's mind up if it's winter or not. Lucky me I won last weeks challange at One Stop Craft Challenge  and I was featured on Joanna Sheen Daily Talent Spot so not a bad week even if I am back on the antibiotics for another 4 weeks. I treated myself to this simply gorgeous set of stamps from Clarity  Stamps and this is my first play with them. The frozen pond I created using clear embossing powder. Winter Wishes sentiment is from Imagine That.

So this is another card I made whilst I still had my Happy Silhouettes stamp set out. Background was created using Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire. Poinsetta

Afternoon everyone. In calligraphy were were talking about projects with Pointsetta's on which reminded me of a stamp set from Joann Sheen which I found in a charity shop for 50p brand new  earlier in the year which I hadn't had a play with. This version is watercoloured using Derwent Inktense pencils which gave it a rather vintage feel so I amde the vintage music paper to go with it. The music itself is more than likely nothing to do  with Christmas but hey ho! I can't read music. Music stamp is from Artemio stamped in Adirondak Latte then distress using Tim Holtz Distress inks.

This is a card that I was asked to make this week for a couple celebrating 50 years of marriage. The couple in question don't have any photos of the their wedding so I was asked specifically to put this photo on. I love this stamp set from Stampin' up. The roses were stamped in Distress inks Wild Honey and Scattered Straw then brushed with gold mica powder which doesn't show up in the photo but I'm sure you all know what I'm on about. The leaves were done In Adirondak Lettuce and Distress ink Peeled paint.

One today

Good afternoon bloggers I trust you are all well and enjoying the last of the summer sunshine. It was a cultural shock to wake up this morning and discover my heating chugging away. It sure made me want to stay in bed especially as my sinus infection which plagued me for weeks not that long ago has returned with a vengeance.
Had a great weekend catching up with an old work colleague that I had not seen for 10 years. How times flies it sure didn't seem that long since I last saw him.I hope it's not that long before we see each other again.

The Big 60

Good morning bloggers what a wonderful sunny day. I hope it keeps up as we are expecting the Lancaster Bomber to take to the skies of Hornchurch this afternoon in celebration of Battle of Britain Day. Hornchurch played a major part in the Battle of Britain and it's a privilege to see such planes take to the skies overhead.

Gone Fishing

Good evening I hope you are all enjoying the summer sunshine we have at last here in the UK. I hope it lasts over the weekend it would be nice to spend some time outside. I really can't believe we are in September where is the year going to. There is definitely a smell of autumn in the air in the evenings don't you think and getting rather chilly too.
Think I am finally getting over the lurgy that husband gave me, if only my problems with my back etc would go but that isn't likely.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the last few days of the Paralympics if you have been watching them.

Wedding Card

So my nephew finally got married yesterday and I can now I hope safely reveal the card I made.
I was inspired by a card on enchanted occassion blog I added another flower, some glitter and a bow  and embossed the word wedding. I also made a box with a window. This is the first totally white card I've made but it certainly won't be my last.

Finally the happy couple in question.

Good Luck

Hello Bloggers, thanks for sticking by me in my absence. It's been such a long while since I posted anything. This year has not been great for me health wise. For the last five weeks I have been on antibiotics to try to cure an acute sinus problem, which I pleased to say looks like it is finally going away. But all those antibiotics and the horrible side effects along with my other continuing problems meant I did not feel up to anything other than dragging myself in and out of bed.
This is a card a friend asked me to make for someone that is shortly going to live in Irleand so of course they wanted an Irish theme. They didn't specify if it was male or female so I kept it clean and simple. I hope this fits the bill.

Mr & Mrs

A whole week has now passed since our friends became Mr & Mrs. Despite the last minute rush for invitations and the small  matter of  all the guests being shown to the wrong room for the wedding ceremony everything else went without a hitch despite the rain. As I had insider knowledge about the colour theme of the wedding as I made the invitations I kept their wedding card the same colours.

Well another week gone  and still no real sign of summer. Oh well at least I don't have to water any plants with all this rain. I've made a few cards this week and this is the first which fits in nicely with the challenge at Crafts 4 eternity  where the challenge this week is Travel. It's also the first chance I've had to use my world map embossing folder another favourite of mine.

Upminster Windmill

Hi everyone I hope you've all recovered from your Royal Jubilee weekend celebrations. Lucky for me my local craft shop Imagine That was open on Sunday so I popped over and treated myself to a couple more of Emma's stamps.  This one is of our local windmill and so different to all the usual stamps you get for cards. It's great to have a stamp of something local too. I wish there were more like this.

Wedding Invitations x 40

Morning bloggers home you all had a great weekend. I've been beavering away for a friend who last week asked me if I could make 40 Wedding Invitations for his wedding on 7th June 2012, yes that's right three weeks time. Thankfully they wanted something simple or heavens knows I would still be cutting and glueing. After waiting a few days while they decided on where the reception was going to be, yes they've left everything until the last minute. Finally I was able to get going and the result is now 40 invitations packed and ready to be collected this evening.

Hi bloggers finally checking in with another card.Sorry for my continued absence but I am still having serious back problems meaning I can't sit down for very long.
Hasn't the weather this weekend been glorious, which makes a nice change after all that rain. Just a pity I can do no more than look at the garden although it's nice to see all the birdies that seem to be frequenting my garden at the moment.

Springtime

Afternoon bloggers. At last the sun is shining here after all the rain of the last few days. It seems to me that as soon as someone mentions the word drought then we gets nothing but rain.I finally had my MRI scan last week and am now waiting for the results. In the meantime I am still in a lot of pain and off to the physio again later today, where he will no doubt inflict more pain but all in a good cause I hope.
So to brighten up the day I was asked to make a card with a vase of flowers on so this is what I came up with. I wanted it fairly plain as the person concerned is posting it, and as we all know the postage costs are really going up after today so I didn't want any thick bows or buttons making the postage more expensive. I also sued one of my favourite colour combinations at the moment Stampin up Certain Celery and Pupmkin Pie

The challenge at Paperplay Challenges this week is animal antics, a perfect excuse for me to play with my gorgeous new stamps from Imagine That. Emma designs some gorgeous stamps and some of them are so tiny you almost need a magnifying glass to see them, but they are always perfect and just what you sometimes need. For this card I used the newly released In The Garden stamp set. For the flowers I used another set called Bloomin' Lovely. I now have a total of 28 of Imagine That stamps sets so you could say I am slightly addicted to them and even better for me is the shop is just down the road yeah!!.

Oh well it is only Monday we will have to see what the rest of the week brings.

Found time today for a little play with one of my newest stamps sets from Imagine That. I just love these sentiment stamps. The Big 50

Hello bloggers well so much for my new year resolution of being a better blogger. That has well and truly gone down the drain this year. I have spent the last couple of months in a great deal of pain and the last month or so have spent many an hour laying on the floor staring at the ceiling. If you've ever tried to use a laptop whilst laying on your back on the floor you will no it's impossible. It's also impossible to craft laying on your back hence my lack of posts. Infact the only good thing about lying on the floor is it's easier to spot the cobwebs on the ceiling although not sure hubby would agree as it's him that has to get them whilst I frantically try to point to them whilst laying on the floor.
I have managed to make this card this week during the time I have been able to sit upright and as this weeks challenge at Papertake Weekly is anything goes this is my entry. It's a while since I've made this style of card and since I used this digi image from Charmed Crafts and Cards but I really enjoyed doing it and it did take my mind of some of the pain for a while.

Lego

Evening everyone hope your week is going well. I was asked yesterday to make a Lego themed card for a little boy who turns 6 at the end of this month. I saw several tutorials for the slider part of this card when searching for ideas so decided to give this a go. I also added a stack of lego bricks to fill the space as I wanted to keep it clean and simple with no patterned paper.

Where is the year going to March already  before you know it it will be time to start making christmas cards again. It is so bitterly cold out today it could almost be Christmas rather than nearly Spring.

Calligraphy

The challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty challenge this week is anything  goes. I normally keep my calligraphy projects well hidden away from the public eye, but as I've been absent for a while I have decided to show you one of my projects before it goes back in it's hidy hole.

Time for a nap

Finally I'm back in blogger land. I have been  rather poorly  with my Fibro and been in a lot of pain and unable to sit for more than a few minutes at a time, which makes crafting hard. Also our pc died and we had to get another, it was 6 years old so I suppose it didn't do bad. Now I have to try to figure out all the settings I had before and get used to newer versions of the software packages I use
This is the first chance I've had had to ink up this little fella which I brought when I went to the craft show at Bluewater a few weeks ago with a friend which was a nice suprise as I didn't think I would be going.

Flowers times three

Well the weather forcasters got it right for once and it snowed on Saturday night. On Sunday morning we woke up to a lovely white garden. So time to batten down the hatches and stay in the warm and do some crafting. I hope the photo is ok as I am still trying to get used to the Windows software on my laptop as my pc is broken and still in the repair shop waiting either repair or the death sentance.
The background was made using a mixture of  Tim Holtz distress inks. Flower stamp is from Paper Artsy. Sentiment is from Imagine That. I used Lavender Lace liquid pearls for decoration.
