Colour Create Challenge 9

Well I hope you've all had a good weekend. My weekend has been rather busy as we had our friends David & Deborah to dinner last night whom we hadn't seen for a while so it was great to catch up. After all that cooking I am rather worn out today to have just sat around blog hopping and playing games. Amazingly I have also managed to achieve doing a challenge on the day it was set. This is for the Colour Createchallenge which this week is Lilac. and Blue.
Backing paper is from making-handmade cards. The lilac card is Lavender Lace from Stampin'Up as is the flower stamp. The sentiment stamp comes from Imagine That. I didn't go with the optional extra of ribbons and swirls, partly because I had no blue ribbon left or if I have it's hiding somewhere and I can't find it, but also because I didn't think either really went with this layout. Although having said that I have just realised the backing paper does have swirls on.

Three Challenges in One

I seem to have lost my mojo a bit this week and can't seem to get inspired. It's not been helped by yet another horrible migraine this week. Hopefully I will get back into the swing of things next week.
To make up for lost time this card is for three challenges. The sketch over at Papertake Weekly The challenge at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is your favourite colour. Mine is pink and lastly the challenge over at Charisma Cards was to use your favourite things. Mine are my papers, Cuttlebug and my computer. I would me lost without my pc. Late last night we had a power cut for about an hour and a half, now for most people that wouldn't matter as they would have been tucked up in bed,but me it's the time I normally craft so I felt like my right hand had been cut off. What did I do before computers?
The image is from Debbie Moore 100 Beautiful sepia and tinted vintage photos which my friend Annie kindly lent me.

Sketch Saturday 43

Well I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day.Hasn't the weather been nice these last few days, well it has here in Essex.Pity it's not going to last, at least not in my part of the world.
Having made Friday's New Job card for a girl and another New Job card for a man I found myself left with some spare paper from the first and a spare Penny Black image from the second so I have combined them with a few other scraps into a man card for Sketch Saturday 43. Why are man cards always that much harder to make than for us girls?
My husband Dave took one look at this card and said "what are the buttons for?" Typical man!

New Job

Sometime ago my friend Irene pointed out that I never made any Good Luck in your New Job or Sorry you are leaving cards. So to rectify the situation I thought I would use this weeks sketch at Charisma Cardz. This card also fits neatly into A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge which this week is to have gems on your card, mine has three.Image is from Charmed Crafts Holly & Madison digital downloads and is just printed as it was the exact colours I needed.I did remove the New Home logo from the box using PSP.

Colour Create Week 7

Can you believe it's the seventh Challenge on Colour Create already.
This weeks theme is Red & Green and the extra option wings. Well for me this is like a red rag to a bull. Talk wings and it can mean only one thing in my house - parrots!! Toby my Cockatoo rules the roost and I am crazy about all things parrot related. So I just had to use my Cockatoo stamp. I've kept the layout simple and not put any sentiment on the front so that it may be used for any occasion.

Friday Sketchers No 43

Ok so yesterday I said I would have no chance for any cards today. So I was wrong my meeting only lasted until 1pm so after a rest this afternoon and because all that is on television is Comic Relief I decided to make a card. This is for Friday Sketchers no 43.I can't believe I've actually managed to make a card on the day the challenge has been set. Stamp is from Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit which is so cute. The eggs I did in PSP and have used sticky pads on them to 3d.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Charisma Cards Challenge 10

Well today I have been at home all day so I managed to squeeze in another card, amongst catching up on all the housework, well some of it anyway. This time it's for Charisma Cardz and the theme this week is Something For The Guys. Man cards always seem a lot harder to do don't they? Here is my card. Paper is some I've had in my stash for a few years. Stamp is from Clear Choice.
Well it's Friday again tomorrow and I have a meeting to attend so no card making tomorrow I shall be too tired by the time I get home.

Papertake Weekly/Colour Create

I am posting this card in the early hours of the morning as I don't seem to have found any other time sit down and make it and also because I can't sleep. Once again I've had a busy few days.I did manage a half hour in the garden on Saturday before the pain kicked in and I had to give up. We went to The Nags Head in Brentwood for lunch with some friends on Sunday which was really nice so Thank You Phil and Jan for a wonderful lunch. On Monday I said goodbye to one of my genealogy students as we had got as far as we could in tracing their family tree. They brought me a lovely Campanula in a flowered metal jug as a thank you which was very kind of them so Thank you Bill & Barbara. On Tuesday I attended the International Women's Day event at my local Town Hall which was interesting. I am really looking forward to Sunday as my friend Gill at Crafty Times is kindly driving me to Stampin'up Stamp Camp I can't wait.
So to make up for lost time this card is once again for two challenges. The sketch is Papertake Weekly and over at Colour Create the theme is Orange, Yellow and Green> Image is from Pink Petticoat.I've glittered the bubbles for added sparkle.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

These Friday's do come around quickly don't they. Where has the week gone I keep asking myself. After last weeks hectic weekend I intend to take things easy this weekend. Maybe if the sun is shining tomorrow and it's not too cold I may just get to venture into the garden and see what's been happening in it over the winter apart from the foxes and badgers digging holes in my lawn.
This card is for Papertake Weekly challenge which this week is Pink, Orange and Chocolate, a great colour combination. I used my Daisy stamp from Sugar Nellie I think she is so sweet.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Have a car-ismatic day

My goodness me I seem to have found the time to make a card mid- week.I don't know how as I've been busy franticly trying to finish my calligraphy project before terms ends and do some genealogy as well. This card is for three challenges the first is for Colour Create challenge 5 which was to use blue and brown on your card. I decided not to go with the extra lace and pearls options as it didn't seem to fit with the theme of this card. The second is for the Secret Crafter whose challenge this week is transport. Finally the third challenge is over at Funky Fairy Inspirations where the theme for challenge 6 is also blue. My Funky Fairy item it the lovely stamp and sentiment which I was lucky enough to win as a mystery prize from them a couple of weeks ago along with some papers. So now all you Funky Fairy followers know what the mystery prize was.

Shop 'til you drop

Well what a busy weekend I've had Friday I went to Excel with my friends and brought a few crafting goodies. Well a girl can't go to a craft show without buying something, now can you? I got home and collapsed I was so exhausted from all that shopping. Yesterday my little cousin came to dinner well he is not so little really he is over six foot tall but he is younger than me. It was really nice to catch up with him as it has been a while since we saw each other. This morning I didn't get up until 10.00am even Toby the parrot slept in late today. There was lots of clearing up to do this morning so I've only just got around to making this card which is for Friday Sketchers No 41.
