Charisma Cardz/Creative Card

This card is for two challenges Charisma Cards whose challenge is anything but Christmas and Creative Card Crew who have set the challenge anything goes.
My great niece Niamh turned one at the beginning of December and so this is a card I made for her. My friend Gill showed me a Christmas card she had made like this and I thought it would make a great little card for Niamh. So thanks Gill for the inspiration. I used my Ellie the Elephant stamps from Stamposaurus and covered with my grey fun flock.

New Beginnings

Well I don't know about you but here in Essex we had lots of that white stuff fall last night. The garden looks very pretty and two foxes were having great fun chasing snowflakes and rolling in the snow last night. As for me I am staying well tucked up indoors until it's gone.
The theme at Daring Cardmakers this week is New Beginnings. This is a card I was commissioned to make a couple of months ago but have never got around to putting on my blog until now. They wanted me to use the colours pale green and pink so this fits the bill although the photo does not do it justice I'm afraid. I had to take it a night and as we all know cards don't photograph well by artificial light.
I hope you all have an enjoyable and safe Christmas.

Secret Crafter Challenge 62

Well I hope you've all had a great weekend and have finished all your Christmas cards and shopping. Hubby has finally got around to painting the kitchen ceiling this week, which leaves the walls and woodwork to do. Who knows he may even get it finished in time for Christmas, not that I will be doing any cooking this year.
Just a quick card as I've had a terrible migraine again today. This card is for The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge which this week is snow. This card is for someone who is as mad about horses as I am about parrots.I've purposely made the card very simple to show off the horse.

Here comes Summer

Ok well maybe not just yet. However the theme over at Charisma Cards this week is "I'm Dreaming of Summertime" and we all need cheering up what with all the rain we've been having just lately. I've combined this with the challenge sketch at Sketch Saturday challenge 80 this week.
I must apologise for the poor quality photo but I won't get a chance to take one in daylight tomorrow as hubby is taking the camera and going on a boys day out.

Friday Sketchers 81/Daring Cardmakers

Another week which has just flown by. I've written and posted all my Christmas cards this week, haven't I been good.I've still a few to write for friends that I will see before Christmas.
The Kitchen is all prepared and ready for painting we just need to find the time to actually go and get the paint.
I've amazed myself today and actually made a card which fits two challenges set today which, must be a first for me. I've used the sketch from Friday Sketchers and the theme at Daring Cardmakers this week is Sepia. So that's just brown/white or brown/cream depending on your card base colour.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow we are off to a friends 50th birthday party and we haven't seen them for a while. I just hope I feel ok tomorrow.I think I shall have to conserves my energy and do nothing all day apart from maybe some crafting.

White Christmas

When I saw the challenge at Secret Crafter which this week is Christmas trees I just knew I had to use another stamp from My Lovely as Tree set from Stampin'up which were still sitting on my desk. This card also fits the challenge at Daring Cardmakers which this week is "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas" which means Christmas cards that are mainly white with just a hint of colour.

Papertake Weekly

Papertake Weekly are having a Christmas challenge which suits me fine as I am still making Christmas cards. So here is another one.I've used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink to give it a vintage feel.

Charisma Cardz 47/Creative Card Crew

Morning everyone what a lovely bright day if even if it's a bit cold.I am still franticly trying to finish making my Christmas cards but have had several migraines this week which has help me up. Hubby has now finished decorating the bathroom. We have now made a small start on the Kitchen. We just need to decided on the colour.
This card is for Charisma Cardz challenge 47 which this week is Anything Christmas. The challenge at Creative Card Crew this week is favourite things,I've used one of my favourite stamps from Stampin'up Lovely as a Tree set.

Two Challenges in one

Hope you've all had a good week and not been working too hard. I'm making up for lost time here and combining two challenges in one. It's been a busy old week with hubby doing some decorating, so I've not had much time for blogging or making cards. I still have loads of Christmas cards to do and time is rapidly running out. However my friend Gill is not having a good time at the moment so I made this card for her to cheer her up.
I've followed the sketch at Friday Sketchers challenge 79 and the them at Incy Wincy Designs is the colour purple.
Image and sentiment are both from Stampin'up.I've also used my new Daisy cuttlebug folder.I made the flower and sprinkled with glitter not that it shows. It has just started to rain so I had to take the picture indoors and they never turn out as well.
I have to go and get ready now we are off to friends for dinner which will be really nice as we haven't seen them in a while.

Sketch Saturday 77/Creative Inspirations 35

Well aren't these weeks just whizzing by. Christmas will soon be upon us and I still have loads of Christmas cards to make. I thought I would get loads of crafting done will hubby was visiting relatives in Birmingham on Thursday before heading off to the Classic Car Show at the NEC on Friday. But hey ho no I didn't. I can't even remember what I did on Thursday. As for Friday, well yes I did get some crafting done when my friend Val came to visit although she was still feeling poorly. I hope you are feeling better now Val.
As soon as I saw this weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday I knew instantly what I wanted to do it was just on of those Eureka moments,it doesn't happen often. I usually spend ages deciding what I am going to do. The image is supposed to be in the circle on the right but to me all the small circles were just shouting Snowman so I hope that's ok.The paper was printed on my pc and is left over from the previous card and just happened to still be sitting on my desk. I used three different Cuttlebug folders for the embossing on the snowman just to be different. This card also fits into Creative Inspirations wednesday challenge this week which is to use your new or neglected stash. Well mine is my peel-offs and my funky foam definitely very neglected I forgot I even had them until I was rummaging in a draw.

Three Challenges in One.

Another quite day for me. So far today I've managed to catch up on my e-mails,write a long over due letter to my cousin Florence, given the parrot a bath and made another Christmas card so a busy old morning all in all. This card fit three challenges firstly the sketch at Sketch Saturday which was a great sketch to follow. Secondly the challenge over at Colour Create is Blue, Silver & White. The third and final challenge is over as Sassy Designs by Susie It's their first challenge this week and they have set the theme Christmas.
I wanted this card to have a soft feel to it so I coloured the image with ordinary pencils. The stamp is from Lili of the Valley. I've used white fun flock for the snow and I embossed the blue card and cut the snowflakes out using my trusty cuttlebug.Backing paper was printed on my pc.Having looked at the picture the blues have come out a bit weird the snowflake background and the blue embossed card to actually match very well despite looking totally different in the photo.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks.

Friday Sketchers 77

This week has just flown by. I seem to have been here there and everywhere and my back is sure telling me I've done to much this week, plus I had a horrible migraine on Wednesday. It didn't stop me going to my friend Gill's though, where we had a great day crafting. I'm having a very quiet weekend trying to rest so all I've done today is make some lovely home-made vegetable soup for tea and this card. This card is for Friday Sketchers challenge 77 and is a great sketch to follow by Jacqueline.
I'm into recycling again so this cute little fellow came off of one of last years Christmas cards. The snowflakes were also from last year and were those that you scatter over your table to give it a festive feel. Being ever thrifty I cut them in half so as not to waste any.Sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.Tartan paper I printed on my pc.

Papertake Weekly 27

Just time for a quick card today, I am shattered after having been shopping this morning.
This card is for Paptertake Weekly challenge 27 which was a great sketch to work with.where the stamp is from it is one I have had in my stash for a while and have just got around to using.

I hope you all have an enjoyable and safe Guy Fawkes night. Me I shall me tucked up indoors with a glass of wine and trying to calm the parrot down who hates fireworks.

Sketch Saturday 75

Well I hope you've all had a great weekend I certainly have. I went to a friends 50th Birthday party Friday and had a great time, the belly dancer was certainly entertaining and I'm sure my friend Michael enjoyed his little surprise.Today the weather has been awful with nothing but rain so I stayed firmly tucked up indoors.Next week is looking very busy for me with various doctor & hospital appointments, which I am not looking forward to, does one ever like those sort of appointments. I am really looking forward to Wednesday though catching up with friends for the day crafting definitely my type of day.
This card is for Sketch Saturday No 75 which this week was a great sketch to follow. I've used it to make a Christmas card that's one more off my list but still loads to do.I'm afraid the picture isn't brilliant as all that glitter is making the light bounce all over the place but hopefully you get the idea.I used Stampin'up heat & stick powder and glitter all over the images and all over me judging my the amount of glitter still on my face which will keep reappearing for days to come.

Friday Sketchers/Papertake Weekly

I must apologise for being such a bad blogger the last few weeks. We went away for a few days last week to West Sussex. Whilst it was good to get away and catch up with friends and relatives, holidays as always do take it out of me. So since my return I have been doing very little other than catch up on e-mails and play the odd game on Facebook. Is it just me or is Bejewled Blitz on Facebook addictive.
This card is for two challenges firstly the sketch over at Friday Sketchers and the second challenge is at Papertake Weekly whose theme this week is spots and strips. I just love this image from Clarity stamps it has to be one of my favourite images. Spotty paper is Dainty Dots from Funky Fairies.Sentiment is Stampin'up

Sketch Saturday 73

Another great sketch this week at Sketch Saturday and a chance for me to use one of the images I won last week from Digital Delights who were the sponsers over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. It also gave me a chance to use my fun flock. Sorry about the bad picture but I won't have time to take a better one in daylight this week.Hope you all have a good week.

A Spoonfull of Sugar 73

Well I think I lost the plot today in my calligraphy lesson I just couldn't seem to get going and am now way behind on my project for this term. I have however been revisiting my family tree the last few days and scouring the 1911 census which has thrown some interesting facts about my family. One grandfather couldn't seem to make up his mind how long he had been married and another great grandfather couldn't seem to decide how many children he had.
This card is for A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge 73 which has a great sketch to follow this week.Stamp is Herb with bird from Whiff of Joy. Photograph is not brilliant I'm afraid as the light is bouncing off the mirri card but I wanted to get it posted tonight as Hubby is thinking about getting out the paint brushes tomorrow to start some decorating so I may not get time.

Autumn Days

Well lucky old me won one of the prizes up for grabs at Secret Crafter last week yeah!!!!! There are some lovely images at Digital Delights for me to choose from and it was a hard decision but I have chosen so watch this space.
This card is for three challenges the challenge this week at The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is Autumn Days. The second challenge is at Stampin' for the weekend whose colour theme this week is orange, brown and leafy green. And finally I've followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday No 72.
As soon as I saw the challenge Autumn Days I just knew I wanted to use my Lovely as a Tree stamp from Stampin'up. I just love this little set.I stamped using Kaleidascolor autumn days, which is shades of green, brown red & orange. It doesn't show to well in the photo though. The sentiment is also from Stampin'up.Balloons are just some little stickers I had in my box.

Friday Sketchers 73

Well another weeks gone by and what the hell I've been doing with my time I couldn't say but gone it has. I had a great day last Sunday
at Jackie's stamp camp and thank you Gill for taking me. The rest of the week has been uneventful but busy doing those boring things in life like housework, paying bills, visiting doctors etc.I have to admit the last day I have spent a great deal of time delving into the 1911 census and what fun I've been having. One grandfather seems to be a compulsive liar and another great grandfather can't seem to make up his mind how many children he had and who was living where. But today I sat myself down and thought get on with it girl Christmas is coming and you are way behind on cards. So when I saw this weeks sketch at Friday Sketchers I knew straight away it would be ideal for yet another buy from Ally Pally.Stamp is from Lili of the Valley and I've added stickles for the berries and and some fake snow.Green paper is from Pink Petticoat

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 52

The theme over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week is celebration. So what better to celebrate than a wedding anniversary. The stamp is from Sugar Nellie and the love heart paper is from Funky Fairies.

Clean & Simple

This week has been very quiet and other than make some Christmas cards I haven't really done a lot.I'm saving my energy for Jackie's stamp camp tomorrow. A whole day of crafting what more could a girl ask for.
This card is for two challenges and I decided to do a clean white & simple card for a change. The first challenge is over at Daring Cardmakers whose theme this week is Folding up. So for this card I folded the front of the card back on itself. I Then layed it flat and stuck on my nesties shape and cut around the right hand half so it folds out. I used my swiss dots folder to add texture to one half of the front and one half of the back so when the card is flat it all looks like one.I've added to glitter to his hat for a bit of sparkle. The theme of at A Spoonfull of Sugar is Christmas so this card fits neatly into that challenge as well.Image is from Lili of the Valley and is yet another buy from Ally Pally along with the little bell and my new nesties labels.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Animal Antics

Well I had a great time at Ally Pally on Sunday with my friend Val. Our poor feet by the end of the day, but it was definitely worth the aching feet and backs along with the hassle of the trains. I came home with loads of goodies and a very empty purse as no doubt did many of you.
This card is for my friend Patricia who is feeling a little stressed and poorly at the moment. I just had to use one of my new stamps which I brought on Sunday, Ellie from Stamposaurus, of course I then had to try out my new fun flock yet another purchase.
This card is for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge whose theme this week is Animal Antics. Well have you ever seen an elephant laying in a hammock? Sentiment is from Stampin'up.

Friday Sketchers 71 / Daring Cardmakers

Just time for another quick card before it's off to bed so I can be up early tomorrow for Ally Pally.
This time I'm combining two challenges. The sketch from Friday Sketchers Challenge 71 and the theme of 'Tartan it up' from Daring Cardmakers.
Stamp is from Lili of the Valley.
I've added some sparkle to his antlers and his white breast and of course his little red nose.

Papertake weekly Challenge 24

I had a fantastic time at the O2 last night seeing Cliff Richard and the Shadows and got up very late this morning. Now if it was all the flashing lights last night or something else I don't know but I had a terrible migraine this morning. So I am having a very lazy day to recover from yesterday and the migraine because I don't want to miss going to the big Craft Show at Alexandra Palace tomorrow now do I. The journey looks like it is going to be a bit of a nightmare as it doesn't look like there are any trains running into London from where I live tomorrow so once again it's rail replacement buses and they take so long to get anywhere. I will get there though as I need to my crafting list is getting so long.
This card is for Papertake Weekly Challenge 24 which this week is a lovely sketch. It's a layout I've used many times before.I had this image already coloured up and found her sitting in amongst the papers on my desk. I've coloured her with my Inktense Pencils.I've also used by Script embossing folder as it seemed appropriate as she is reading a book.

Let's Go Dotty

Wow can you believe it's been 11 days since I posted anything.I've had a serious problem of lack of mojo despite spending a great day last week at my friend Gill's. I think it's because I've been so tired and in too much pain through trying to do too much.
I'm having a very lazy week and trying not to do a lot because on Friday hubby and I are off to the O2 to see Cliff Richard and the Shadows, which I am really looking forward to. Hopefully the trains will be working and it should be an easy journey of less than an hour from where we live. We've already booked the restaurant before the show so can relax over a nice Brazilian meal.Sunday I'm off to Ally Pally with my friend Val yeah!! lots of crafting goodies to look at and and buy, hopefully that will restore my mojo.
This card is for two challenges firstly A Spoon Full of Sugar sketch no 70 and the other is Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 50 which is One for the Girls, so anything Girly.

Sketch Saturday 68

Just a very quick post before I'm off to bed. I had a great time today pottering around while hubby was out all day.I Didn't get as much crafting done as I thought as my friend Val came round this afternoon and we opened a bottle of wine and had a good old chat which was really nice. Only managed to make one card today. This is for Sketch Saturday challenge 68. Image is from Whiff of Joy and is Herb with bird.

Papertake Weekly Sketch 23

Where has the week gone I've been so busy, well for me anyway. I've pottered around outside clearing up in the garden ready for the winter. I went out to lunch with the girls on Tuesday. Another friend also took me and hubby to a new Italian Restaurant in Hornchurch for dinner on Wednesday. It was excellent and I can see myself becoming a regular, especially as my friend Val has just moved into a flat upstairs. I also visited her in her nice new flat this afternoon and we had a great time having a girly chat with the odd glass of wine thrown in of course just to celebrate.Hubby is off the Beaulieu Autojumble on Saturday with a friend so I shall have a whole day to myself.Hopefully that means I will have time to make more Christmas cards.
This card is for Papertake Weekly Challenge 23. I'm starting to get into the swing of Christmas cards now and have a few of this little fellow from Forever Friends all coloured up and ready to be used.Papers are from Funky Handy Yule be Funky.

Rock Star

I managed to find time to make another card today as there hasn't been a lot on television tonight. Please excuse the bad photo but I was taking it indoors which is never as good as proper daylight. This is for two challenges Friday Sketchers no 68 for which I've followed the layout. The second challenge is for A Spoon full of Sugar whose theme this week is distressing of any sort. So I tore out the sentiment then aged around the sentiment and the image using Tim Holtz Distressing ink - Tea Dye.I've glittered part of the guitar to add a bit if bling. Papers are from Marie Stones digital scrapbooking. Sorry I don't know where the image is from as I stamped it up when I was at my friends Gill's.

Creative Card Crew 26

I can't believe it's the weekend again considering I haven't done much this week.I briefly saw my friend on Wednesday as it was her Birthday. I did go and see Brian Wilson(from Beach Boys) at the Roundhouse in Camden Lock with hubby on Thursday which was great. We also had a very nice meal before the show.
I've finally finished making all my cards that I need for September so I can now think about what I need to make for October which I think is only one then I can get on with more Christmas cards I'm really behind this year.
This card is for Creative Card Crew Challenge 26 which this week is Pink, black & White.
Paper and images are from Funky Fairy Inspirations

ABC Challenge

Hope you are all having a good bank holiday. Me, I'm busy crafting so many birthdays and anniversary's cards to make this month.
This is the first time I've done the ABC Challenge for a long while, the challenge this week is C for circles.I made this card when I was in my recycle mode and looking at last years Christmas cards.I thought these little bears just so cute and can you see the little mouse peeking out the pocket.Sentiment is from Stampin'up.

Stampin' for the Weekend 13/Cute Card Thursday 75

Well what a busy old week I've had catching up with various friends for coffee.Hubby and I, well I do have to take him out sometimes went out one evening for a meal with some friends at a South Indian and Sri-Lankan Restaurant in Hornchurch and very nice it was too.I've also been busy watering a friends garden every day while he has been on holiday. What a mammoth task that is too most of his garden is concrete and covered in hundreds of pots and two greenhouses as well. My poor old car doesn't know what's hit it. It's gone from doing 5-6 miles a week to doing that every day
This card is for two challenges. The theme over at Stampin' for the Weekend is anything baby.Cute Card Thursday theme is new beginnings so what better new beginning than a new baby.So I did this very quick and simple card.I didn't want anything too fancy otherwise it would have detracted from the wire word "baby".I just love this little elephant Ellie she is do darn cute don't you think? Gingham paper is from Funky Fairys. Ellie is from Stamposaurus and wire word from Papermania.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 46

Well another fine sunny day lets hope it keeps up as I'm off to a party tonight so we don't want any of that wet stuff we had yesterday. I've only a few hundred yards to go so plenty of time to fit in a quick card. The theme over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week is Turquoise and Brown a great colour combination and for a change a male card, I seem to have needed quite a few just lately. I've used this layout so many times, it's so useful for using up small scraps of paper, and as they are scraps I can't tell you where they came from I've had them so long.

Thursday, 20 August 2009

Christmas in August

Yes it's that time of year when all good crafters should be well into making their Christmas cards by now. Obviously I'm not that good as this is only the second one I've managed to make so far but at least it's a start. The Challenge over at Creative Card Crew and at Dutch Dare Card Challenges this week is Christmas in August, in case you hadn't already guessed.
So I've dug out last years Christmas cards to see what I can recycle. In this case it was the image. The snowflake is one of those sprinkles that you put on the table at Christmas. Backing paper is from Yule be Funky.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 43

This is the first time I have found time to do the Secret Crafter Saturday challenge in a while so it is good to be back. Mother in law is still in hospital can you believe it's been three weeks now, and still no sign of when or if she will come out. I've got a busy week next week so don't know how much time I will get for crafting. I'm meeting up with my calligraphy class on Wednesday as it's been a while since the end of term. Then Thursday I'm of to see the queen, well not really just for a nosey around Buckingham Palace.
This cute little owl stamp is one my friend Val gave me. He came off a crafting magazine but I can't remember the name of the magazine right now. I've used chocolate chip and certain celery card stock and sentiment from Stampin'up and the birdie paper is paperermania spring life.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Papertake Weekly Challenge 20

This is the first time I have had a chance to use this stamp which I brought way back in March from Ally Pally. The challenge sketch over at Papertake Weekly this week seemed perfect to give it it's first airing. Today I am having a quite day as I am feeling really tired and having finished the ironing thought I would sit down and make a card before going off to the hospital once again to visit mother in law. Leopard print is from Pink Petticoat. I've also used Chocolate chip card from Stampin'up. Stamp I think is from Rubbernecker.

Sketch Saturday No 61

I don't know what's come over me I have found time once again this weekend to make another card that's two this weekend. This is for Sketch Saturday challenge 61. I haven't done this challenge for a while what with everything that's been going on but the sketch just grabbed me and I knew instantly what I wanted to do for a change. Image is from Stampin'up from a set called Summer by the sea one of my favourites.

Friday Sketchers No 62/Creative Card Crew No 20

Yeah! I found time to make a card as well as twelve jars of chutney,I actually feel I've achieved something today. I can't believe this is the first card I've made in a week, I am slipping but I have had other things on my mind. This card is for two challenges firstly the sketch at Fridays sketchers No 62, secondly Creative Card Crew Challenge 20 which this week is Polkadots. It's even my first Christmas card for this year. Yes it's that time of year when we all start to think of Christmas. Why is is as soon as school holidays start people start to think of Christmas? It took three attempts to get this photograph today I hope I've finally got one that doesn't have a flying ant on it, the place is swarming with them today.

An Award

At last I have just found time to sit down and catch up on the blogging world. It's been a busy old week still hospital visiting. We were called to the hospital on Thursday because mother in law had taken a turn for the worse but she seems to have rallied again for now.
It was a very nice surprise to discover that Avril had given me this lovely award. Please do pop over and take a look at her gorgeous work.

I would like to pass this award on to
Gill at Crafty Times for all her help she never fails to inspire me.
Lyn at Blackdragons' Crafts
Cheryl at Cheryl's Creative Atc's & Cards
Tanja at Tanja's Bastelwelt
and finally but not least Jem at Jem's Crafting Blog

Does my bum look big in this?

Well it's the start of the weekend again just where has the week gone.It looks like we will still be visiting hospital everyday as their is no sign of mother-in-law coming out any time soon.
At least the sun is shining after last nights horrible storms and all that rain.
The challenge this week over at Creative Card Crew is to create a scene so what better opportunity for me to give this stamp it's first airing. I raided hubby's garage for some sandpaper to create part of the beach. Doesn't sand just get in all the wrong places. Anyway I've decoupage their hats and costumes to give a bit of depth, but it doesn't really show in the photo.I'm not sure that you can see it clearly in the photo but the little aeroplane is trailing a banner which says 'Hope your day is full of sunshine'
Have a good weekend everyone. Both stamps are from Rubbernecker.

Friday Sketchers No 60/Colour Create No 23

Why oh why did I open my big mouth and say life had returned to normal. No sooner had I said it than we had a telephone call to say my mother in law had been taken back into hospital. It's been a busy week looking at nursing homes, hospital visits and clearing her room in her current care home.
I didn't think I would get time this week to do anything but to my surprise I did and just in time to enter this weeks challenge at Friday Sketchers Also the challenge over at Colour Create is blue & white with the optional extra of vintage.Well The dress is a kind of vintage style but it certainly fits with the theme blue and white anyway.
The Stamp if from Clarity I really love this stamp so much so I may just have to buy it instead of keeping borrowing it from my friend.Sorry I can't remember where the papers are from they were in my blue scrap box.

Colour Create Challenge 22

Just a quick posting today as it's hubby's birthday so I have things to do. But I would like to wish him Happy Birthday once again as I know he reads my blog. I had a fabulous day at my friends yesterday. I look forward to see her again soon.
It's all change over at Colour Create which has now shifted from a weekly challenge to a fortnightly challenge. The challenge this time is Grassy Green,Apple Green, Sunflower Yellow, Lemon & White. Some of my favourite colours. The optional extra was to decorate the inside of the card. I'm afraid I didn't have time for this as I needed to get in the post.Image is Sugar Nellie.Gingham paper is from Funky Fairy Papercrafts, Green paper is Certain Celery from Stampin'up,Sentiment from Imagine That.
HAve a good weekend everyone.

Creative Card Crew Challenge 17

This was a card which I was commissioned to make a few weeks ago. I was asked to make a card in keeping with the wedding invitation and wedding theme which was pink & brown. The backing paper that the hearts are on was done on my pc and is just the name of the bride and groom repeated over and over. I even managed to find the same font that was used for the invitations.
The theme this week at Creative Card Crew is weddings so as the wedding has now passed I can safely place the card on my blog without spoiling anyone's big day.

Friday Sketchers meets Daring Card Makers

Well I'm finding all sort of images and cards half done since we decorated so here is another which I've just finished.
I've followed this weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers. The Daring Card Makers challenge is Blue & Green which fits perfectly with this pre coloured image from Dotties World at Charmed Crafts. It doesn't show too clearly in the photo but the strip of paper at the bottom does have sheet music on.

Life returns to normal

Life has been very hectic the last few weeks but has finally returned to normal, well as normal as my life seems to be at the moment. The parrot is eating hooray!!!. Mother-in-law is out of hospital and we have finished decorating the room where my pc and crafting goodies are kept. All the furniture has been restored to it's rightful place, so I can once again find my crafting goodies. All I need now is to get my car fixed which broke down last week.
So to kick off my crafting here is my take on this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge 58. On this occasion I didn't go with the optional extra of red, white & blue to celebrate Independence Day as I already had this image coloured up from before we started decorating.
