Sketch Saturday 31

Hi everyone I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and received lots of nice goodies be they crafting or not.We spent a very quite Christmas at home then travelled to my sisters on Boxing Day to see our new great niece Niamh. Boy does it make me feel old being a great auntie.
Christmas is now well and truly over so just time to fit in another sketch before the end of the year. This time it's for Sketch Saturday and you could pick any sketch from the year. I decided on Sketch No. 12 which was way back in August before I started blogging. The truck stamp is from Stampin'up.
All that is left now is for me to wish you all A Happy New Year.

Love is in the air

I have had such a bad cold this last week that I have done very little. I have not even felt like making any cards until today. Finally I am beginning to feel a little bit better but I still have a bad cough and the snuffles so I shall not be going to see my new great niece Niamh today as planned. She is only 17 days old so I don't want her to catch my nasty germs.
This card is for Fridays Sketchers No 33. Stamp is from Penny Black and the papers are from Funky Fairies
If I don't make any further postings before Christmas I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Now I couldn't leave him sitting in a drawer until next year now could I? So this is my Entry for Sketch Saturday no 29. The stamp is of course by Whiff Of Joy Herb With Bird. Tartan paper is from Chris Warner Christmas CD.

My first posting in over a week but then I have been away. Hubby and I went to the Cologne Christmas Markets and to see some old friends. We finally got back late on Saturday. I had a nice surprise when I looked at my blog on Sunday as I have won another stamp this time from Saturday Sketchers so can't wait to have a play with that when it arrives. This card is one of my last Christmas cards for this year. Thankfully I have almost finished them now, not that I mind making them of course. This is my entry for Friday Sketchers Challenge 31.
The stamp is one that I won from Papirdesign

Two Challenges in one

So I'm still not feeling great but everytime I go to my desk I keep seeing this little fellow sitting there. I was at my friend Gill's last week and she gave me another lesson in water colouring and he has just been sitting on my desk since I got back waiting to be used. This card is for the Friday Sketchers Challenge no 30. It also fits the Arty Girlz Challenge 62 which this week is your favourite colours. Mine are definitely Chocolate and Cream. The stamp is from Forever Friends

Ok so this is my entry to Papertake Weekly Dawny's Sketch 3.I just love this Clarity Stamp as you may have noticed I've used it before. The dress is placed on glitter card which doesn't show to well in the photo.
I thought I would do it now whilst I had a little time on my hands. It's a certain friends special birthday tomorrow so we are off to the a Chinese in Romford for lunch. I also have more christmas cards to do and a calligraphy project to finish by Wednesday if I can find the time.

Friday Sketchers No 29

I can't believe Friday Sketchers challenge has come around again. Where has the week gone. I thought I would make a masculine card by way of a change this week. Just as I was making it the postie came with my stamps from Papirdesign which I was lucky enough to win they other week. They are gorgeous and I can't wait to have a play, so watch this space. I was almost tempted to stop this card and make another using them but as I had started I had to finish it. The stamp and sentiment are both from Penny Black

Pretty in Pink

I've had a bit of a cold this week but have finally found the energy to do another card. This is for the A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 26. This weeks theme. was anything flowers.
The front of the card is cut diagonally and the flowers arranged overlapping the edge. I then added a further flower on 3d foam to the top right hand corner which is really the inside of the card. The flower stamps is from Sugar and Spice and the hedgehog is a Penny Black stamp.
The picture is a little blurred due to my shaky hands today. I'll try to take another in daylight tomorrow.

Fridays Sketchers No. 28

Well Dave has finally returned from the Classic Car Show with the camera just in time for me to photograph this weeks Friday Sketchers Challenge entry. I was also the lucky person randomly selected for last weeks prize. I can't wait to have a little play with the stamps when they arrive. For this card I used another stamp from Lili of The Valley. Yes I'm still playing with my new set of stamps. This little fellow is called Biscuit isn't he adorable. My friend gave me some tips on water colouring which I really appreciated so thanks Gill.

Two Challenges in One

I needed a break from Christmas cards so this weeks Spoon Full of Sugar challenge was ideal. I also discovered some lovely images and stamps over at Polly Craft Designs I love this picture of a lion from them it's so suitable for a child's birthday card. He looks very friendly to me what do you think? I created the stripey paper using the colours from the lion in PSP. Polly Craft Designs also have a Monday challange which this week is to have three circles on a card and to use a Polly craft design image. So this card also neatly fits that challenge.
It was only when I had made it that I realised hubby had gone off to the NEC Classic Car show with the camera so I had to scan the card. This means it doens't really show that the 1 and the Happy Birthday are on 3d foam.

Friday Sketchers #27

Another day another challenge this time over at Friday Sketchers Challenge no 27.
It was a good excuse for me to use yet another Lily of the Valley stamp. I do like these cute animals. The picture doesn't really show the glitter on his nose, tail and head. I will try to take a better photograph tomorrow in daylight when hopefully my hands will also be a little bit less shaky.

Mojo Madness Week 59

Well As warned I have become addicted to the challenges. This is my entry for Mojo Madness challenge 59 over at Poetic Artistry.
It's also my effort at recycling as the snowman came off of an old Christmas card from last year. I just love looking through my old cards to see what I can recycle into other cards. All I did was add a bit more glitter around the edges.

Little Black Dress

Well I've had a busy weekend trying to catch up on boring things like housework and preparing for genealogy students this morning,so I've not had a lot of time to make any cards.
This is not for any challenge just a simply card I quickly made to chill out after a busy morning. The coat hanger was a bit fiddly to make being so small but it gives it that extra little touch.

I have used a Clarity stamp on acetate and glitter with co-ordinating papers.

You Have Mail

Well I really enjoyed myself yesterday at my first Stampin'Up stamp camp. I am a little tired today after all my efforts yesterday so have only done a very quick card. I have purposely not put any sentiment on the front as this card is so versatile, Birthday, New Home, Belated Birthday, Thank you. The patterned paper comes from Funky Hand Now That's Funky CD.

A Touch of Class

I thought I would post another card today as I will be busy tomorrow. I am going to a Stamping'Up stamp camp day which I am really looking forward to as I have never been to one before.
This card is so simple to make and you can just let your imagination run wild with designs. I just loved this paper which came from funkyfairyinspirations and knew as soon as I saw it what I wanted to do with it. They have some wonderful stuff you should check them out.

Just for Jackie

Just to prove to Jackie my calligraphy teacher that I did finish last terms project.
I even turned it into a birthday card for my friend Gill over at Crafty Times

1950's Lady

OK so I managed my first blog which is encouraging, I still want to tweak things a bit so look out for the changes.
Why Cards by Aardvark you may wonder? No, it's not because I want to be top of any lists. It's a play on words, my maiden name was Varker and my husband always says I'm hard work, hence aardvark.
Well time for another card, this is one I made for my friend Val and is a stamp I brought from Ally Pally a couple of weeks ago. I love it and can't wait to use it again.

My First Ever Blog Entry

OK so I've finally entered the blogging world. I love computers but I have never got around to a blog before, been too busy making cards and doing my family tree amongst other things.

This first entry is short and sweet until I get the hang of everything.
This is a card I made for my friend Linda's 50th birthday back in the summer. It's the first picture that came to hand. I will post more as I get time.
